A Bit of Earth

Have you seen the yard behind Chris's house?  It's HUGE!  Last year Chris had sprinklers installed and planted grass.  But, more importantly, she gave me a 'little' corner for a flower garden.  Little? It's 9' by 20' :).

Mom helped me, and we placed some stepping stones as well as planted daisies, phlox, poppies, peonies, and petunias :).  We've been joking about all the "pea" flowers: "pea never looked so good." "A lot of pea helps gardens grow."  he he he!  You get the idea!

  

It was a lot of work, but tons of fun!! Thanks Mom :)

GED Graduation

Tonight I keep thinking of that movie line from Mulan when Mushi says, "My little baby's all grown up and...[sniffle] ... and savin' China."  Tonight I watched four of my GED students graduate and I'm so excited and proud and in awe of their accomplishment.  Way to go guys!

Hello, Dolly!

My niece was the lead in her Jr High production of Hello, Dolly!. They even featured her play in the Daily Herald. Pretty cool, eh?!  I thought she did fantastic: animated, voice, character development.  Can we say, "Hello, Loriel!"

This weekend was full of wonderful fun with my niece and nephew and their family. We got to watch the A&E version of Pride and Predjudice for extra credit for lit class and we got to hang out. Got to love a lazy weekend with family :).
